What Happened to the Female Rapper?

Lady LuckIt’s hilarious that after a stalled career on Def Jam — almost 10 years ago — Lady Luck is still battling folks for attention. God bless her. She must really love hip-hop. Her latest challenger is Reece Steele, the winner from VH1’s “Miss Rap Supreme.”

I feel bad for these female rappers, because honestly no one cares about them anymore. Eve had ‘em shaking their tambourines, album never came out. Lil’ Mama got lots of press and video play from “Lip Gloss,” the CD went wood in the hood.

Lil’ Kim had the #1 show on BET, and Naked Truth does nothing.

I’m not sure if the problem lies with us or the artists themselves. If they’re hookers on the mic, dudes will lust after them but not support their projects. If they’re rough and asexual to put the focus on their lyrics, men and women will be turned off and still not support their projects. Maybe they should all just go independent like Jean Grae. At least then, they’d get some respect.

lil mama is still talking independently. that is how she feels but this rapper right here feels that eve and other female rappers are going hard.like lil kim, nikki minaj, remy ma, and rasheeda. lil mama only got so big because lil kids love stupid bullshit. like that soulja boi and web star its just catchy they never snap. if there is anyone who doesn’t agree compare lil mama lyrics to eve’s. then them me who go hard.
