I Love Me Some Maxwell

MaxwellTrue Maxwell fans rejoiced when the crooner finally came back to the music scene this year, and to find out success hadn’t gone to his head was even better.

“I’m confident in my intentions and why I’m making music,” he told the Associated Press. “I’m not making music because I want to be on your TV screen or the cover of your magazine. I want you to make a baby to something I wrote. I want you to clean your kitchen on Sunday to this, ride in your car, go to work… That’s my goal.”

Reviews for his recent shows in Boston and New York have been good, and word is he’ll perform the new songs “Pretty Wings,” ”Bad Habits,” and “Comb” from his upcoming Black Summer’s Night release throughout the tour.

Maxwell is one of the few artists that I go groupie for, and I mean that in the best way. There have been times when I was two seconds from cussing somebody out, and if I heard his voice or listened to a song, I didn’t. His voice coupled with live instruments and silky melodies just bring forth a stillness I can not describe. It kinda feels like my soul is getting a massage.

I say all that to say, welcome back Maxwell. Welcome back.
