The Knux Work on New Music and Plan Tour with “A Legend”

The KnuxPacked with an eclectic mix of lyrical wit, old-school fun, and party-like-a-rock-star beats, The Knux’s debut album Remind Me in 3 Days… is a must listen for anyone looking for something outside of today’s norm. (Think The Pharcyde meets De La Soul and Outkast.)

But, that’s us telling you, not The Knux themselves.

“Uh, you know what’s so funny? We don’t even care if we sell a lot of units,” 25 year-old Krispy Kream told Milk Magazine with a laugh. “We’re mainly a touring group. A lot of our fan base is based around live shows and stuff like that, so we don’t even care about album sales. Honestly, we don’t care. It’s gonna do what it’s gonna do regardless. We’re like, yeah, whatever.”

The Lindsey brothers can afford to be confident. Performing nonstop for over a year made the New Orleans duo a critical and fan favorite and helped them secure a deal for their own Chic Freak label through Interscope. And that was all before they’d officially released even a single.

Krispy explained, “It’s crazy. All we do is record and tour. That’s it. We have an artist called Black Flint. He’s like a real gangsta rapper. You guys are gonna be like ‘Damn!’ for real when you hear it. It’s sickening. This dude is hard as nails. Like cold Detroit winter hard.”

“Yeah, like DMX first album,” agreed Al Millio.

There’s also their group Negro League, remixes for Remind Me, a sophomore Knux album, and Al’s side punk project already in the works. Plus, they’re planning yet another tour with a major act for November.

“I don’t wanna give no names ‘cause It’s not finished yet, but it’s gonna be like ill,” Krispy said. This dude’s a legend, that’s all I’ma say. We already went on tour with Common, so it’s not Common.”

The Knux’s Remind Me in 3 Days… is in stores now.
