Mike of 112 Accuses Former Group Members of Theft

Say it ain’t so. Just when fans thought 112 would be the one group not to get broken up by money issues, member Michael Keith claims that either Darron Jones or Quinnes “Q” Parker was stealing from him.

During a recent interview to promote his new self-titled solo album, Mike said that both he and Slim left the group in 2007 because they were denied proper royalties.

“I had to leave because I found out that a certain member of the group took my publishing check. It was made clear that it was intended for myself and another member, Slim,” he told EURweb.com. “I’ve put so much of myself into 112 and into the brand and into these guys. For it to be a situation that boils down to simply money, that’s something I can’t forgive.”

Michael wouldn’t name exactly who is at fault. He also said that his business manager first brought the issue to his attention and that they are still deciding whether to pursue legal action.

However, when we spoke with Slim earlier this year, there was no mention of any internal strife. According to him, their solo projects were merely a natural progression.

“The group wanted to do something different before the next 112 record, because it was feeling more monotonous with us. We just wanted to change up a little bit and do something like the group that we kinda look up to - New Edition,” he told Milk Magazine.

Slim also attributed the group’s long success to a shared focus on teamwork.

“We were friends in middle school. Whether it was singing or playing basketball, if we were together, we felt like we could beat you. The strength was in the unity. At the end of the day, we were working on one common goal and that’s to make our brand 112 a household name. We didn’t care that you knew our names as much as you knew the brand 112.”
