Krispy of The Knux: “I Was a C.O. and Proud”

The Knux

During our recent interview with hip-hop duo The Knux, the brothers spoke about everything from growing up in New Orleans to reaching out to the youth through community service. And when the subject turned to the recent controversy surrounding Rick Ross’ rumored past as a correctional officer and the “reality” of hip-hop, we found out that “The Boss” isn’t the only one who used to work for the law.

“I used to be a C.O. and I’m proud of it. And I had court cases and shit,” Krispy told Milk Magazine. “I was a C.O. for like six months, ’cause that’s the only job that mother fuckers will hire you fresh out of high school and I could make a decent amount of money doin’. The only problem I had about Rick Ross was that he lied about it. That was the thing that made me mad. Don’t lie about that shit. Nothing wrong with having a job, bro.”

Al Millio echoed his brother’s statements. “We already know this shit is like WWF, and we’re cool with that. But now you’re trying to act like you really sell drugs by denying it. Long as we know it’s entertainment, you can talk about whatever the hell you want. Slick Rick made stories. Those stories wasn’t fuckin’ true. Dude’s a storyteller. Nas talked about crazy stories, like none of that shit was true, you get what I’m sayin’?”

“What’s going on is you got young kids that think that’s real. Now, you never sold crack in your damn life, but you got kids sittin’ there like ‘I wanna be like the rapper, so I’m going through the whole motions,’ he continued. “You don’t see fuckin’, nah mean, Tom Cruise after he finish fuckin’ Collateral walkin’ around the street pistol whippin’ mother fuckers. Cuz you know all day he’s a fuckin’ actor.”

“Certain rappers be trynna be like this is real life. They get on the Beef DVD’s, hook up with the local drug dealer ‘round the neighborhood, and show some of his coke and try to make like he affiliated. And wondering why hip-hop police following them. Next thing you know, they got a court case and them niggas cryin! And they think the whole world against them like ‘Aw! They just trynna put a black man down!’ Naw, they trynna put a nigger down! Because a nigger operates like that. Get what I’m sayin’?”

Amen, brother! Amen! Those are some of the realest words spoken in a long time.
