New Music Showdown: Foxy Brown vs. Lil’ Kim
Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown dropping new music at the same time? Wow, it feels like ‘96 all over again! But before we nostalgics get all excited, let’s break this down a bit.
Both Brooklyn divas are rumored to be working on their first albums since serving a year of jail time each. (Kim was convicted for federal perjury in ‘05, while Fox Boogie got nabbed for a probation violation in ‘07.) The struggles of being on lockdown might inspire them lyrically, but is their new material any good?
Well, they have hooked up with the artists du jour (T-Pain and T.I.) to make today’s fickle young bucks give a damn. Normally, I’m a Kim fan all the way, but I think I like Foxy’s better this time.
