D’Angelo Not Signing With Bad Boy
The rumor mill has gotten it wrong yet again. We just received this statement from D’Angelo’s publicist:
Contrary to various recent media reports, producer, composer and performer D’Angelo has not signed with Sean “P Diddy” Combs‘ Bad Boy Records. While both gentlemen hold one another in the highest regard, the stories circulating in the press are totally false, according to D’Angelo’s manager, Lindsay Guion. D’Angelo is signed to the RCA Music Group (J Records), a unit of Sony Music Entertainment, Inc.
Unfortunately, when it comes to a firm release date for D’s new album, the singer’s reps gave nothing more than a vague “2009.” They did confirm, however, that he’s already recorded tracks with jazz icon Roy Hargrove, Cee-Lo, and Raphael Saadiq, which Milk first reported back in October.
