NEW MUSIC: Idle Warship “Steady”

Idle Warship

I am loving this new joint from Talib Kweli, Res, & Graph Nobel. They recently formed the group Idle Warship and have been doing some spot performances here and there across the country. They also have a mixtape in the works, but there’s no word yet on if there will be a full-length album.

Res’ voice sounds so dope over the sample of the Eurythmics‘ “Sweet Dreams.” Check out how they morphed the classic beat into “Steady” below. And, if you like the song as much as I do, download it for free here.

Wow! This is the second song (after Fall Back ft. Chester French) that I have heard from this group and I am greatly impressed! Much love Talib but Res really took over this one her voice is fantastic. And the uptempo part at the end is wicked! Hope they do a remix using the uptempo part through the whole song.

BTW the hook is Sunglasses at Night by Corey Hart but I can see the confusion as the syns’ are similar and both songs were pretty much released that same year.

Ah, thanks imutau! You’re right about that sample. It’s dope either way :)
