Do I Smell a Keri Hilson Backlash?
During my morning blog troll, I’m coming across more and more Keri Hilson haters. From the response In a Perfect World gets on the radio and in the clubs, I thought everyone was drinking her Kool-Aid but I guess not. Is this just the usual crabs-in-a-barrel reaction or does the newbie’s confidence have folks singing “Turnin Me Off”?
Keri tells J’Adore magazine (via BET.com):
It’s funny. Some people say they want to hear someone real, but some artists do not even write their own songs. Some artists do not even meet with the songwriters that sell them their next big hit. So, if you appreciate the music and understand the realness of a true artist, then check In A Perfect World…..I have songs that anyone can relate to and they are from the heart.
And a user named Dani responds:
How is she talking about making real music but her voice has been autotuned to death on Turning Me On? Secondly, she’s a song writer but she didn’t write all the music on her album. Neyo and The Dream wrote every song on their albums. Those are songwriters I can respect. So she’s a songwriter who doesn’t writer her own hits and a singer who uses autotune. Her PR team need to market her as something else because it’s not adding up.The more interviews I see on Keri the less I like her.
Then, an angry fan took to YouTube with claims that Keri acted diva-licious at a CD signing for WJLB in Detroit, which set off a flurry of similar comments on NecoleBitchie.com:
Even if laryngitis did prevent the singer from speaking that day as she explained on her Twitter page (Miss Keri Baby), let this be a lesson to all celebrities — a fan may only have one chance to meet you. Jump over backwards to make him or her feel special or lose millions more in the process. What’s that saying about a person re-telling good news only once but bad news 8 times?

I hate Keri Hilson. When she was on tour with lil wayne she tried to flirt with him and it made her look like a retard. i hate her. she’s a stuck up bitch. xxx
