If you think Milk is O.D.’ing on Maxwell this week, tough. It’s been 8 long years for the fans, so we are gladly soaking up as much of him as we can in honor of the new album, Black Summers Night.

I woke up bright and early this morning to see him tape a segment for CBS’ “Early Show” here in Manhattan that airs on Friday, July 10. The video is a bit shaky — kinda hard to get a clear shot when you’re 5′2″ and a 6′5″ dude is standing in front of you. SMH. — yet the performance was amazing as always.

Cam’Ron debuts in the #3 spot this week with his comeback disc Crime Pays. After surprising everyone with her #1 debut last week, Chrisette Michele’s Epiphany slips to #8 with 113,000 units sold to date.  Rick Ross follows with over 270,000 sold of Deeper Than Rap, and Ciara’s Fantasy Ride rounds out the Top 10 with 107,000.

Unfortunately, all the positive press hasn’t helped Asher Roth at the cash registers. After over a month in stores, his Asleep in the Bread Aisle has only moved 112,000 copies. Here’s a random sampling of how everyone else is doing: (more…)

ON THE EVOLUTION OF HER STYLE:

It’s cool to see them get opportunities to share their creative visions and to actually be successful at it. There is a lot of new energy and a lot of new ideas that these designers are bringing. Who’d have thunk it? On the strength of “There Goes My Baby,” Charlie Wilson saw his latest offering enter the charts at number two just behind country sensation Taylor Swift and selling over 58,000 copies. Go ‘head Uncle Charlie! Beyonce, Jamie Foxx and India Arie also hold strong in the Top 10 at the number five, six and seven spots respectively.
