A while back, I was invited along with a bunch of other journalists to a listening session for Busta Rhymes’ new CD Blessed. We kicked it, ate, drank, and even voiced our picks for singles. But when July 1 came and went without the normal release week frenzy, folks whispered that Bussa Bus had cussed out Jimmy Iovine and been kicked off Interscope. (more…)

Milk was invited to a listening session for Busta Rhymes new album Blessed on Tuesday here in NYC, and what a night it was! For 5 hours, Busta talked about everything from his recent troubles with the law, his newfound sense of appreciation for friendship and family, and the return of original Flipmodian Rah Digga. (Digga, Digga! First name Rashida! Welcome back, girl.)

It was definitely one of the most intimate meetings we’ve had with an artist in a long time. The drinks were flowing and the food and jokes were plentiful. After some sketchy encounters with journalists in the past, Busta made it very clear that he wanted a friendlier atmosphere this go-round.

So, how was the music? Blessed, due on July 1, features an all-star roster and does not disappoint.
