Has anyone ever said you remind them of Ralph Tresvant?
I was Ralph Tresvant, I’m trynna tell you! People don’t understand, okay? I know I was way too young to be in New Edition, but in my mind, ok? I was Ralph Tresvant. (laughs) ‘Cause he’s smooth, you know what I’m sayin’? I used to idolize him, El Debarge, and Babyface.
Oh yeah! I didn’t even think of the Debarge comparison.
Yeah, if you wanna know what makes Slim, that’s what it is.
That would be crazy if you all did a song together.
Aw, man! What?! I don’t know what I would probably do. You know, I’d have to get all the groupie-isms outta me, just the whole jitter thing, you know what I mean? (laughs) It would take me a couple days, then we could just do it. It would be all love. (laughs)
Slim’s upcoming solo debut LovesCrazy will be the first release on his own M3 label. Calm down, 112 fans! The group has NOT broken up. They’re just trying to get their New Edition on with solo projects.
