Maxwell live

If you think Milk is O.D.’ing on Maxwell this week, tough. It’s been 8 long years for the fans, so we are gladly soaking up as much of him as we can in honor of the new album, Black Summers Night.

The video is a bit shaky — kinda hard to get a clear shot when you’re 5′2″ and a 6′5″ dude is standing in front of you. SMH. — yet the performance was amazing as always.

Watch “Bad Habits” and “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” now.

But if he keeps dropping bangers like this new joint featuring Jadakiss, that February release date can’t come soon enough.

VIDEO: Maxwell Explains His Long Absence

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Maxwell says he initially told fans that he’d be taking a break after Embrya was released in 1998.

“I don’t think people really took me seriously. They probably thought that I was freaking out because of the response or, you know, the sophomore energy of putting out an album can be a little bit tempestuous. It was more so, you need to live life to be inspired by music.”
